Lowestoft 6th Form College is an extension building to the existing site and was completed in 2011.

The building has 4 floors with a large open area atrium. The fire alarm system is comprised of a network of 2 x 4 loop Advanced MXPro4 fire alarm panels that control the detection devices throughout the building. Apollo devices are used and provide coverage to category L1. The system is connected to an Off-site monitoring service enabling automatic response from the fire brigade service in the event of fire activation.

The building has a Baldwin Boxall refuge alarm system allowing communication between refuge areas and the main entrance when in a fire condition.

Disabled toilets have assistance alarms provided by C-TEC which signals an indicator panel within the security room. These alarms can only be reset at source ensuring any alarm is investigated.

Security on the site is comprised of a Grade 3 Honeywell Galaxy intruder system. All external doors have door contacts and all rooms with external windows/doors have Dual Tech PIR detectors. Control of the system is by use of pre-programmed fobs and id code. The system is connected to an off-site monitoring station giving Police response in the event of a confirmed activation.

Access control is installed throughout using Paxton single door controllers and readers with a combination of rim locks and magnetic locks. These are also incorporated into the video entry system and the turnstiles at the main entrance.

The reception desk has an induction loop installed and there is also a large induction loop installed to the studio and atrium areas.
